Name: Monthly Scholastic Tournament - Dec 2024  
Desc: The Manasota Chess Center (MCC) will hold an Unrated Scholastic chess tournament, as well as a U.S. Chess Federation (USCF) Rated U1000 Scholastic tournament. Players must be in K-12 grades. The tournament will be a 4-round Swiss-system tournament for up to 36 players (both tournaments combined).

Two Tournaments:
• Unrated Scholastic Tournament
• Rated Under 1000 Scholastic Tournament

NOTE: Use the "Choose Section" field on the registration form to select the desired tournament/tournament section. Sections may be combined at Tournament Director (TD) discretion.

RATINGS: Players competing in the Rated Tournament must have a USCF membership (this is not necessary for the Unrated Tournament). You can purchase a yearly USCF membership on this registration page by checking the box for "I'd like to renew or purchase a US Chess membership", or you can purchase USCF membership on-site at the MCC on the day of the tournament.

TIME CONTROL:
• Unrated Tournament: No clocks; 30-minute duration per round. Results for any unfinished games will be decided by the Tournament Director (TD) based on game position.
• Rated Tournament: All rounds are Game in 25 minutes.

PRIZES:
Trophies for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place for Rated and Unrated tournaments.

All non-award-winning players will receive a commemorative event participation medal.

ROUNDS: 4 rounds. No elimination: each participant plays 4 games/rounds. Round 1 begins at 12 noon.

• UNRATED TOURNAMENT: If registered online before 11am on tournament day, $15 for Manasota Chess Center members; $20 for non-members. If registering on-site on tournament day, $20 for Manasota Chess Center members; $25 for non-members. NOTE: Manasota Chess Center members should enter discount code when completing online registration form.

• RATED TOURNAMENT: If registered online before 11am on tournament day, $20 for Manasota Chess Center members; $25 for non-members. If registering on-site on tournament day, $25 for Manasota Chess Center members; $30 for non-members. NOTE: Manasota Chess Center members should enter discount code when completing online registration form.

REGISTRATION: ALL PLAYERS in rated sections must have a valid USCF membership ID# to participate. Non-USCF members can purchase a membership or renew at the tournament site. USCF membership MUST be purchased or renewed before the tournament begins. The end of online registration is 11AM, Sunday, the morning of tournament. On-site/walk-in registration occurs from 11:30AM to 11:50AM. Players that are not at tournament site at least 5 minutes before Round 1 start time will be withdrawn from the tournament.
