Name: Gator Chess Club Championship
Desc:
Format: A three section, USCF rated 5-round tournament. Open to University of Florida students, faculty, staff, and alumni as well as the general public! Top scoring University of Florida student, faculty, or staff in the Open Section will earn the title of Club Champion.
Schedule: 10:30am - 12:00pm - 2:30pm - 4:00pm - 5:30pm
Time Control: Game in 30 minutes with a 5 second increment per move
Entry Fee: $35 on or before 11/5, $45 after or on-site. Free entry for USCF 2200+ with no prize deduction (contact us by email if you qualify).
Prizes ($2,000 based on 100 players):
Open Section: $300 (gtd.) - $200 - $125 - $70
U2000: $100 - $50
U1800 Section: $200 - $125 - $70
U1500: $100 - $50
U1200 Section: $150 - $100 - $60
U900/Top Unrated: $100 - $50
Top Scholastic (K-12): $100 - 50
Unrated Playing up Fee: $10 for any unrated playing wishing to play in the Open section. No fee for U1200 or U1800
Byes: 2 half point byes available, request before the beginning of Round 3.
Note:This event requires parents, guardians, or teachers to be responsible for the care, custody, and control of the minor participants, the University of Florida will not provide supervision.
