Desc: On May 18, from 2 pm to 6 pm, we are going to have Simul and lectures at the Saint Petersburg Chess Club with two of the best chess Players at Florida GM Vladimir Georgiev and FM Corey Acor (up to 36 players). Register now to secure your spot. Registration will close after we reach 36 players. Everyone who wins or draws against them will receive a free chess lesson and medal. Everyone can take pictures with them and ask questions as well. ********************************************************* LOCATION: 540 4th Ave N, Saint Petersburg, FL 33701 ********************************************************* SCHEDULE: 2 pm–3 pm—Lecture from FM Corey Acor. ********************************************************* 3 pm–4 pm – Lecture from GM Vladimir Georgiev. ********************************************************* 4 pm – 4:30 pm – Ruffle, pictures, break. ********************************************************* 4:30 pm – 6 pm – Simul with Corey and Vladimir. ********************************************************* Just the first 20 who registered can choose who to play with. Corey and Vladimir will play with 18 players each. ********************************************************* ENTRY FEE: $25 if you register by 5/11. $30 after that. $35 if you register on 5/18. ********************************************************* $15 FOR SPECTATORS. They can listen to the lectures, participate in the raffle, watch the simul, and ask questions/take pictures with Corey and Vladimir. ********************************************************* RAFFLE: We will have at least 7 raffle winners (maybe more). Everyone who registered will have a raffle ticket. You can buy more raffle tickets on-site. ********************************************************* RAFFLE PRIZES: Three chess computers, a nice old chess set, a new wooden chess set, a chess poster, and a one-year family club membership ($100 value) Thanks to our donors, the prizes can be more. Expect surprises, like always. ********************************************************* FIDE Master Corey Acor is a 4-time National USA Chess Champion, 11-time FL State Chess Champion, Awarded Life Master from USCF, Highest rating over 2400 USCF, and Highest Rated Player/Coach in the Tampa Bay Area. ********************************************************* GM Georgiev is a strong GM, with a peak rating of 2600 and trainer of GM Jeffery Xiong, World Champion U20 (2016) and winner of the World Open (2019). He was also the coach of GM Antoaneta Stefanova, the 2004 Women's World Chess Champion and runner-up in the 2012 Championship. He was also the coach of WGM Nurgul Salimova, the U12 World Champion in 2015. He was on the USA team in the World Youth Championship held in Uruguay in 2018.He is a certified FIDE trainer and has been a Grandmaster since 2000. He has many students in the US that have won numerous national and international medals. He has participated in 8 Olympic games as a player and a coach. He has played World Champion Magnus Carlsen and top American player and challenger to Carlsen in 2018, Fabiano Caruana
