Name: First Annual Orlando Chess Open (Open and Scholastic)  
Desc: This event is hosted by the University Club of Winter Park and co-organized by the Valencia Chess Club, Florida Junior Chess Club, Orlando Chess Association, and Orlando Chess Club.

This tournament has three sections:
1) Open USCF rated ($40)
2) Open unrated ($30)
3) Scholastic USCF rated ($25)

There will be an awards ceremony at the end of the tournament.

Chess sets are provided, but we are requesting players to bring their chess clock if you have one.

The time control for the tournament is 25 minutes with a 5 second delay.

On-site registration will begin at 9 a.m. on the day of the tournament, and the first round will begin at 10 a.m.

There will be trophies for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers in each section. Because the scholastic rated section is so large, trophies will also be given to the top 3 finishers with a USCF rating below 800 who did not already finish in the overall top 3 for the scholastic rated section. Winners of these u800 trophies will not also win cash prizes.

There will be a $500 total prize fund (for the rated sections only).
Prize money distribution:
1st place scholastic rated: $70
2nd place scholastic rated: $50
3rd place scholastic rated: $30
1st place open rated: $200
2nd place open rated: $100
3rd place open rated: $50

If you are signing up for the unrated sections you may leave the US Chess ID and the FIDE ID boxes empty.
