EVENT OVERVIEW
OUR 8TH ANNUAL NATIONAL CHESS DAY JAX EVENT!
Note: this event draws nearly 100 players every year, and we could cut off registration due to capacity constraints.
ENTRY FEE: $25.00 (fee goes to $35 the day before the event, so register early :) )
Includes entry to an Art & Puzzle Contest for players,
5 rounds of tournament games,
Top section on DGT digital broadcast board, and Team & Individual trophies as noted below.
CURRENT 2025 FALL SUNDAY ENROLLED ACADEMY STUDENTS MUST USE DISCOUNT CODE. Non students will be fined $10 above entry before round one if code is misused.
REGISTRATION:
All registration is online at Chessregister.com . Auto shutoff Friday at 5pm.
All players must have a current US Chess membership (can be purchased for $20 with registration)
Non-USCF members can buy a membership or renew via this site.
TOURNAMENT INFO:
Five rounds G/25;d5 dual-rated chess in four sections.
Sections K-2, K-5, K-8 & K-12 allow players to up, but not below their grade level.
All sets provided. Bring clocks if you have them.
Arrive by 9:00 am
Round 1 starts at 9:30 am.
Two byes (excused absence from a round) are available. Allows players to come after later or leave early. Some use them to place "Breaks" in the day. Select at registration.
The schedule will also have a brief lunch break.
AWARDS:
Trophies to Top 5 finishers in each of the four sections K-2, K-5, K-8, K-12
Trophies to Top 3 schools in each of the four sections (two players-same school = team - Homeschool CO-OPs eligible)
Also, please note, the nearest quick lunch venues are Jimmie John's on Hendricks Ave. and Fire House Subs in San Marco Square.
